993 door locking problems
Really would like any advice. I have a 1996 993. The door locks stopped working and I don't need to unlock the drive block to start the car I just turn the key now. You can lock the doors on the switch on the center counsel. When you try to unlock or lock the doors the lights blink on the door pannels. So I just recently shipped my key, alarm, ecu to have tested by ECU specialist in fl. Just got it back after they said everything works fine and still the same issue, so with that being said is not the alarm unit or the control unit I'm guessing. They bench tested it, and it's all working. Has anyone experienced this problem. What else can fail and what will make me not have you hit the alarm button to disarm the drive block to start the car? This was all working then went to being intermission and now it stopped working completely same with the door locks.
Any advise helps. Thanks |

might be an issue with the lock cylinder switch. It trips when you pull the key out of the ignition. The drive block does not need to be reset as long as the key is not removed and the remote wont lock the doors if it thinks the key is still in the ignition.
