Door stop broken

I have a 993 and the driver' s side door stop has pulled out of the pillar . I know there are dozens of posts about buying and replacing the mechanism with in the door itself but how do you access the inside of the door pillar to re- attach the hinge and pin thanks

You mean the door check that keeps your door from flying open hitting the car parked next to you?
If that's it think it is the same one for my 964. I got the URO brand 964 537 057 00. I hope you have speakers in your door right? Access it through them.

It's a weak spot on the 993s. I believe there is cutting and welding involved to do the repair correctly.

You can weld the hinge the to the body from the outside, that is what I have done and it seems to hold up pretty well. Do this in combination with the door strap mod 993 Door Check-Strap Detent Assembly
Or you can remove the door, cut open the body sheet metal to get access to the A pillar, reweld it to the A pillar and close it back up. the latter is more work ($$$) but would be the proper way to do it.
