Right Side Timing Chain Cover Removal

Hoping for some guidance.

Do I need to remove the crank pulley to remove the timing chain cover? I have loosened the AC bracket and I still do not have enough room.

What about removing the studs for the cover?

I can do it with removing the studs, however I am getting the tool to replace my crank pulley.

I removed my studs to slip the cover off. If or when I take crank off I’ll alter / cut away the binding portion of the AC bracket.

I was thinking of cutting it as well. Also, the engine carrier can be backdated to use 3.0/3.2 parts if your engine is in an earlier car.

I ended it buying the crank pulley tool. Awaiting its arrival in the mail.

When it's off, cut away the flanges on the aluminum piece that traps it behind the crank pulley. Then you don't have to remove the pulley to get it off, or pull studs, especially the upper right one that you can't get anything on to turn it.

I should have done that. I now have the tool - I am going to remove the pulley anyways and install an OEM pulley.
