1999 engine into 2001 996..how, problems?

What is the possibility to put a 1999 engine into a 2001 car?

Here is the info......

The 2001 VIN is WPOAA29911s621767.

Attached is the serial of the 2001 bad engine.

Also attached is a picture of the details of the 1999 engine.

Has anybody done this?

Check over on Rennlist for this. It should be a direct swap since they are 996.1 engines. Nothing changed much with the engine between 1999 & 2001. Major PITA going from 996.2 to 996.1. Or the other way around.

Does the 99 engine have e-throttle? If not-you will have to swap over the intake from the later engine.

It is more than just egas, the 1999 engine used a 5.2.2 DME, the 2001 car carries a 7.2 DME.
