Subaru Flat 6 in a 996?

Found myself this week watching videos on guys who swapped in an LS motor into the 996, but couldn't find much on using a Subaru Flat 6 in the early 996 cars.

Has anyone done this as of yet?

Brian

I imagine the appeal of the V8 conversion is more hp (than both Subaru or Porsche flat sixes).. and well, its been done for 30 years into 911s. Subaru conversions tend to be the way of the 914 crowd instead. Going from 80hp to 170hp or more in a 914 is quite a nice bump. Dropping from 300hp in a 996 to 250hp? vs a 400hp V8?
