Looking for location of A/C Evaporator Housing Temp Sensor
 

My A/C compressor won't turn on, however, the 2 front fans turn on after 20 seconds and run continuously. My scanner indicates that the A/C evap sensor is reading -40 degrees. This reading prevents the A/C from turning on.

Part # is: 1H0-907-543-A. Diagrams show that it "should be" on the driver's side interior, above the floor vent! I have searched for the sensor location to no avail!

Any idea where this sensor is hiding??
