Questions on value of a 991.1 GTS

Father in law has a 2015 991.1 GTS 4. He got it specced like he wanted and it’s white with black wheels and has a factory duck tail which I think is fairly rare in that car. I keep telling him that car is awesome but he wants a GT3 and is on a list for an allocation I think in late ‘24 or early ‘25. And I totally get wanting a GT3 so I don’t blame him.

He wanted to see if anyone thought that given that the GTS is usually a sort of “Goldilocks” car, it’s NA (unlike the 991.2 GTS) and the reasonably unusual spec - whether if he hangs on to that car for the next five years or so if it has any staying power in terms of value.

I think part of the issue is that when he got the GTS he sold his 996.2 C4 and got something like 40k for it with 30k miles and then watched the price skyrocket in the next few years.
