Mystery dash switch

I just got a 2001 Carrera cab. I have question about a switch just below the AC contols, (lower left). It's two rotating knobs with a small light to the right. With the car running, turning the back knob counter clockwize, the light turns red, and I hear a chip, alobg with some red lights on the dash. Clockwize will trun the light green with a similar chip and red lights.

Any idea what this is for and what the switch does?

Thanks!

That is a mystery. Check to see if it brings your spoiler up and down. I know there is a switch near the pedals for this, but I've seen some people selling a button that lights up when your tail is up.

I checked that, and it does not control the spoiler, (at least when the car's not moving)

Thanks anyway!

it sounds like its a radar detector that the previous owner installed. not a factory option.

You could be right. The switch doesn' look factoy to me, however the lights do as they appear on both sides of the cluster. Anyway... I guess I'll drive around and see what it does.

Thanks!
