1999 996 c2 won't pass smog
I was wondering if it is possible to pass smog with a K&N cold air intake or if there's anyway to cheat the sensors?

You have another issue. The DME can correct the mapping to manage any change in air / fuel levels. If your failing a smog test it is most likely not related to the K&N. You may fail in Calf or some other states because you are not allowed to 'alter' the OEM set up and if they see something different - bingo - a fail. The fix for that takes a few minutes and requires you putting the old OEM tube and airbox back in. You may have a dead sensor that gives you a fail or a misfire - could be any number of issues. I would think you would have a CEL on if it were major - you didn't mention this or any 'numbers' from the test.
