oil filter check
I have an 02 w/~60k. Just checked the oil filter. I found 5 silver pieces about the size of a pin hole, nothing else. Thoughts?

Hard to tell what it could be. Is it magnetic? When was the last oil change? Do you still have the oil? If so get a sample kit from Blackstone, get the oil tested. You can always drop the oil pan look for other material.

Did the oil change recently. Still have the old oil, thankfully. Will send it out to hve it analyzed. I ran a magnet over all I could find. Nothing steel.

Ordered the kit. Will do a re-check on the filter at ~ 500 miles and will take a pure oil test sample at that point.
