I knew it when I did it.

There is a debate on using the engine for a jack point. I found out the hard way.
Both motor mounts let go of their fluid when I lowered the hydraulic jack to fast.
I had used the engine for jacking in the past and was always real easy letting the
car down. No problem.
Yesterday, after replacing the tranny gear oil, I lowered the car down a little to fast and sure enough, both mounts let go of about two or three tablespoons of
red fluid.
I found OEMs for $100.00 each. Lesson learned... raise and lower the car real slow or don't use the engine for jacking.

I've had that issue before, but it was only the right side. I'm not sure the speed of the letdown had anything to do with your issue. Eventually the seals will let oil past. I just replaced my engine mounts about four months ago. I've jacked it up numerous times since. No leaks. I'm guessing yours are just ready to be replaced.

I use the cross member which is just a few inches further forward of the "jack point" on the motor.

I wouldn't jack the motor with hydraulic mounts installed. I don't think I'd jack a M96 at all really. The cross member is right there - just use that.

If you have jack clearance issues for using the x member just jack up on the sides and put a board under the rear wheels to raise it up a few inches and lower onto the boards. Then jack will slide right under the back with no problem. Easiest and safest way to do it IMO

I got some Rhino Ramps now. Makes things easy.
I like putting the car on four jack stand whenever I need to get underneath.
Hopefully the mounts will be here today and I will be back on the road.
I did notice that the exhaust tips are hanging a little lower than normal.
I am hoping the transmission mount is still ok. I don't know if the broken motor mounts are causing any stress on the tranny mount. the car has 75K miles so the motor mounts probably were due for replacement.
