New to the Fold...

My wife and I purchased an 02 996tt w/X50 pkg on Saturday. It is a bit out of the ordinary...Red with tan interior which is a bit ironic in that the car that came in a close second was an 02 Modena 360 in silver and black. The value was in the 996 however and with only 15K on the ticker, it soon became the obvious choice. It doesn't please the aural senses nearly as well as the 360 but it is a kick in the butt to drive. Being the old fart that I am and getting soft when it comes to manual shifting, I was thinking a Tiptronic package would be nice but the 6 speed is silky smooth, especially compared with the 86 Mondial that shares the garage space next to it.

So this is our first venture into 911 land though not entirely foreign to Porsche as my wife has driven a Cayenne for several years now. But I will be monitoring this site for the sage advice of those who have lived and breathed the marque.

Glad to be here...

Brock
