Common problem associated with age and inclement weather and not necessarily mileage. I recently had the same experience-CEL came on then started fouling really bad in heavy rain. As I was 750 miles away from home I had a Porsche dealer replace all six. Cost $800 plus wasted a whole day and hotel night while the parts were flown in and delayed due to fog. Would have done it myself if it had happened at home. If you are not still on warranty and you feel like DIY, then these are my suggestions-buy a Durametric directly from them and have it delivered over night. Best investment for now and the future. It will tell you your error codes and be able to reset the CEL. If its a coil then I would replace all six (when one goes the others are not far behind..) plus the plugs while you are in there. Our host has the OEM coils and plugs but don't cheap out on the coils. I think that there is a DIY video on Renntech.com in either the 966 or 997.1 section. Look underneath the car and make sure that you have the correct sockets on hand to remove the small shields to get to the coils. It's a Saturday morning's job. Cheers and good luck.
