GT3 Oil Cooler
2002 C4 Cab. I plan on installing a GT3 Oil Cooler. The question is: Will the stock bumper cover work or will I need a GT3 bumper cover or an aftermarket bumper cover to ensure proper air flow, fit, etc.?
Another question relates to aerodynamic continuity if a GT3 or aftermarket bumper cover is used and there is no other rear wing other than the stock 'pop up' wing, what would be the result? Would a larger wing be needed? Thanks, Taco Truck |

Ummmmmm....the GT3 cars of the same vintage as yours carried Mezger engine's that used an oil to water cooler (center of the photo below), so are you referring to an aftermarket unit of some type?

I am sending the engine to Vision Motorsports for an upgrade, due to the dreaded IMS failure.
Vision has an option for a GT3 oil cooler that mounts in the front, behind the bumper cover. What I am trying to find out is if the stock bumper cover will work if modified or if I am better off using a GT3 or aftermarket bumper cover. I will not be sending the whole car to Vision, just the engine. The local Porsche shop will do the engine/transmission install, suspension, CSF radiators, etc. I don't know whether to buy a new bumper cover or have the shop modify the stock piece. Thanks, Taco Truck |
