966 Front Trunk

I recently purchased a wonderful 966. I have been driving it daily for a month or so now but the battery completely died overnight and I cannot find out a way to open the front hood? I have accessed the rear trunk lid and found a unshielded cable but when I pulled it, it only activates the rear trunk latch? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Open the rear trunk and hook jumper cables to the large bolt (negative) in the front of the air box and hook the positive cable to the jumper terminal just above the AC compressor on the passenger side of the compartment.

If you have a newer 996, then you can also hook the jumper cables to the drivers side door latch and a small terminal that pulls out of the fuse box. Google search is your friend for more info.

Good luck.

DO NOT TRY TO JUMP START FROM THE FUSE BOX!! You will melt wires. The fuse box jumper tab is only for opening the frunk or engine cover to get access to te battery or jumper terminal.

Thanks for posting that. I should have been more clear in my post. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif
