Can you trickle charge a battery while its still connected to the vehicle? I charge my car every couple weeks because it dosent get used very often and always disconnect the battery before connecting the charger overnight. Seeing as you guys hardwire the chargers in permanently great idea which I may now do too it sounds like you don't need to disconnect the battery from the car first..?

It is safe to connect a trickle charger that is automatically controlled based upon the battery state of charge.

"Trickle chargers" never shut off or reduce voltage, which can cook a battery over time; battery maintainers vary the voltage and amperage input according to the battery's condition, and can be left connected indefinitely.

I have a hardwired smart charger on my car, no issues, just plug it in when I get home.
