996 GT3 Transmission removal

Hello racers,

the clutch pedal of my 996 GT3 Mk2 sometimes does not release itself. The endoscope camera shows that what seems to be be the clutch release arm has a dent, that might get stuck with the release when lifting the clutch pedal. Might be due to a bad installation from a transmission change of the previous owner.

I want to pull the transmission now without removing the engine. Anyone has a guide for this or a video?

Thanks for your help, best from Munich,
Markus

Don't the various IMS sites give full directions? I know they are not GT3 specific, but they cover the basics.

It's shouldn't be too complicated. Disconnect everything on the trans, disconnect the CV joints, pull the flange bolts and slide it back without dropping it.

No, and for a simple reason: If you don't know how to remove the gear box, you really shouldn't be attempting and IMS retrofit..................

In addition, the Medzger engine is very different from the 996 and the instructions will not apply. However, dropping a GT3 manual gear box is a straight forward endeavor.
