Theoretical HP from 2.4E, for SCCA ITS
I copied this from the 911 section because it I just found this part of the forum, and it seemed more appropriate.
Well, here is a theoretical question for you engine gurus. This year the SCCA has added the 69 -73 T and E 911 variants to the ITS (Improved touring S) class. As an acedemic question, what HP do you all think a '72/3E 2.4 MFI motor is capable of, given the following rules. -Free exhaust, up to 103 dB or so. -Nearly any fuel -In this case, stock injection, although "Sensors" which affect the mixture are allowed to be modified -Any ignition, but must use dizzy, but can change internal dizzy components. -.040 overbore with factory replacement pistons, or equiv. -Balancing and blueprinting ok, to lightest stock componenet. -port matching between the intake and head is ok up to 1" in. -free clutch and pressure plate. - compression can't be more than .5 point more than whats stocked -all tolerances must match those listed in the manufacturers manual. -stock cam, to specified tolerances. Ok, that said, how much HP can we expect the motor to put out in full race trim?? (the race weight is 2385 pounds) (stock is 165)

Purely theoritical.......no gurudom here.
84mm Nikasil Cylinders punched 1 mm O/S & replated JE 9:1 pistons (a custom deal). Bring money. The Nikasil gives less friction & better cooling. The JEs are much lighter than Mahles, but the most of the power gain would come from the added ccs, me thinks. I dunno if the windage mods are legal...prolly not, too bad, there's power to be had there. WAG, +15/20 hp.
