Competed in first TT
I drove my 78 SC to a third place in Tarheel Sports Car Clubs time trial at Roebling Road with a time of 1:29.19.
I DNF'd Saturday after locking a right front tire on my last timed lap which caused the car to step sideways off the track. I got on my new Victoracers on Sunday and took 4 seconds off my best time from Saturday. Here's a pic of the car with my new magnetic meatball and permanent number. Next stop: Carolina Motorsports Park, November 1 and 2. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1064965949.jpg |
Looks like a great car for TT/DE action.
I think half the fun is the hours of practice leading up to the timed laps. I checked but could not find a home page with your car specs. What are you running for drivetrain/suspension and the rest? How do like the whale tail? |
Ted ...it'a an IROC tail, by gosh...;)
Lothar...your car looks just great...good to hear you slash such a chunk of time off with just the addition of the Kuhmo's.....double thumb's up 'bro!! I'll be getting my own IROC tail back from the painter tomorrow, and I like your front spoiler too...nice '74 IROC look!!!! This comong weekend Ted & I will be out at Spring Mtn Motor sports raceway in Pahrump Nevada for a two day TT, with the PCA-San Diego Region...first time I will have the IROC wing on.... Although I've got a long hood car, I plan to get the same front bumper/spoiler you have and just add a splitter to the bottom of it... Your 911 looks fast and very taseful...... cheers !!! |

Lothar...how do you like the 245 Kumho's on the 9" rims ?
are they wide enough i.e. the side walls running vertical off the rim up to the tread, or is the rim a tad wider than the tire? I'm running the Kumho 265/45 16 on 16 x9" Fuchs in the rear...have been toying with the idea of trying out a set of 245/45 16 Kumho's next set.... |
John,
No problem. The 245's look quite natural on the 9" rims. The rim does not protrude past the side wall of the tire in the front. |
Excellent !!!! thank you for the feed back!!
I think a set of 245's are in my future,,,:) |
Lothar - how much does your SC weigh?
