Fun at Lime Rock

The car we built at Lime Rock... Chief Instructor for a BMW club called and need instructors, so my friend and I obliged.. brought the 2004 935 we built... I know there hasnt been a real 935 built for 20 years... this is a lap of the beast that we built

ENJOY

Very cool. Love the sound of that turbo. Was that a "pick me up truck" I saw in the last few seconds of that video?

They all drive well, your car appears to have twice the power.
I'd like that power on a NASCAR roval, you make Limerock look like an AX track.

Wow Tim;
What a great way to save bandwidth on the downloads. With that car you can get 2 laps in the same time as a normal car gets one!

Gotta love that HP! (But the handling didn't seem too bad either...)

Yes! Just like an autox except with a 100 mph pock-marked, flat-out, diving turn that likes to eat race cars for breakfast. Other than that, just like an autox.

Uhh, Tim, going by the time on screen that's a 1:01.

And you weren't even pushing it by the BMWs.

Nice. Very nice.

Is that Bill's car? And if so, why was it rebuilt?

Bill was turning 56-58 when he drove the car, and we were short shifting 7500-7800 instead of 8500

The rebuild was due to the fact that we found out that rod bearings dont last 3 years, so a refresh was needed. It is a constant struggle..trying to keep a 25 year old war horse competitive with the hardware some guys bring to the races..

We finished the rebuild the night before this DE so we were just breaking the car (engine) in.

The video hardly captures the experience, The acceleration and handling are unbelievable. You close on other cars so quickly.

[sound of jaw dropping]

Steve Savino won this year's race with a 57-ish time. That's on a wet track, though. Rick Deman turned a 56.7 in 2003 to win. And a 56.1 the year before that.

Can't WAIT till May, this sets the stage for a great battle in GT1R.
