CO2 tire inflator

i saw some guy at the AX with a tech looking tire inflator. he said it was liquid C02. it looked to be the size of a medium fire extinquisher, and had a digital readout of some kind. tried to yahoo, and google it, but turned up nothing. not that i could afford it, but i just wanted to learn something new. has anyone of you seen one?

Used mostly by offroaders. but could be applicable in a track setting. It's on my wish list.

Why not a nitrogen tank?

The easiest and cheapest way to bring air with you to the a/x is to use a small portable air tank that you fill at home or the gas station. The cost $35 at Home Depot. 11 gallon tank, fills to 120 PSI. Air lasts all day for you and your buddies.

Yes, but it's not "dry air". The regular "wet" stuff will expand more than dry air (or pure nitrogen, or CO2). So you have to fiddle more with the tires to keep them at their optimal pressure.

It's the kind of thing that folks with mega budgets use, with marginal benefit for most of us. Or perhaps some of the users are simply looking for a way of intimidating their competition in the paddock...
