Zone 2 @ VIR - tech question
First off, anyone going to VIR in March from this board? I recognized a few names on the registration list - Brian and Josh at least...
Here's my question. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get up there Thursday evening due to work. If I don't arrive until mid-day Friday, is there any chance of getting someone to tech my car? I've spoken to Rebecca and she says she can get be signed in if I can track her down, but she can't guarantee anything regarding tech. Having not run with Zone 2 before I'm not sure how tightly they run tech hours. Anyone know?

Hey Tom,
I can't speak for the Tech guys, but I'd be suprised if you counldn't find one of them to check your car out quickly and throw a sticker on it. The key here is finding the right person. Try to get some names from Rebecca before getting there, look up their car and # on the entry list, and track them down. Looking forward this event, and especially to just being a general PITA to Brian and Jim.

That's a good idea Josh, I'll check with her.
Let the trash-talking begin!

Well FYI - I had a friend show up late last year, and he had a hard time rounding up someone to tech the car, and they gave him alot of grief about missing the drivers meeting.
So, get it lined up in advance with somebody!!!!

I'm doing what I can to get up there Thursday night, it will be a last minute decision though.

Get in touch with whomever will be the chief instrutor ahead of time.
That way they'll have stickers line up for you, etc. They can check the car out, put stickers on your car, and you'll be ready to go (hopefully).

I would set it up with the Zone 2 Chief of Tech, Tim Costa. His email is president@pcachs.org Once Tech closes, some of the guys are instructors or participating in the event, and it may be tough to find them. If you have it planned ahead to come Friday midday, it shouldn't be a big deal at all. I'm looking forward to the event, hopefully great weather all three days!
