Pagid Orange or Black?

My 944 Turbo weighs about 3000lb. I have new slotted discs and will have new brake scoops or ducts for my next track day, my wheels also allow better airflow than previously (D90 vs Flatdish). I have run Porterfield R4 in the past but want to try Pagid pads - people have recommended orange and black to me. What criteria should I use to choose between the two compounds? I am running DE only, no races. I want a consistent pad that is as gentle on rotors as possible with good wear. My club runs at brainerd and road america which have very long straights/high speeds and long braking zones. I have had problems with pad deposition on rotors causing pedal and steering wheel vibration in the past and really want to avoid this, obviously I don't want fade either. I bleed brakes before every event and have fresh Super Blue in the system. Thanks for your advice/input in advance.

Neither. The orange are old technology and really dusty. If you run "drilled" rotors, they will constantly clog the holes. The black are pretty aggressive for DE. I suggest the RS-19 yellow pads for DE.

Thanks Tom. I always get more confused rather than less in this area of braking. I would really like to find that bulletproof setup. I have never heard of RS-19 yellows, I will try to look them up.

Black have more stopping power, yellows last a bit longer (but are also a bit more expensive). I personally run blacks front & rear and wouldn't consider anything else.

Oranges blow. They overheat and you get tons of pad transfer on the rotor.

Pad transfer is exactly why I switched to PF97's. Work great, good rotor life, inexpensive.
