The new SA2010 painted Lid
Xmas came early! I just wanted to give a plug to Cleber Frank at cleberdesigns.com. He did and excellent job on my new helmet.
FYI- if anyone wants the Porsche visor banner I have a few extra ones coming. $15 shipped. ![]()

What did the painting cost? If you don't mind sharing. The helmet looks great, I would love to do that to mine.

Flieger- Funny stuff. Cleber painted his helmets before TLD.
Aslet- Don't copy my design! Lol. I actually used Romian Dumas's helmet as a base, then Cleber did his magic to make it my own design. Price as shown $600, which is not bad at all considering what I have seen other people pay. Warning- Once you get one helmet painted, you can never wear a stock unpainted one again. I have had 3 painted (2 are now expired and sitting in display cases in my office) one signed by Patrick Long, the other signed by all the Porsche Factory drivers of the 3 DHL Porsche Spyder RS's (even Briscoe and Castroneves) from Penske's last race with the cars.

Nice stuff! I can't imagine spending that kind of change on helmet paint.
I need to start figuring out what I am going to do with my next AutoX helmet. If I come up with the design My uncle will paint it for materials...... He's done some very nice helmets over the years.... |

Let me ask this- IF someone were to make vinyl graphics for helmets, rather than paint, at what price would people be interested? $150? $200?
This wouldn't be me, but a graphics designer who's already doing graphics for Porsches, including custom graphics and logos for my car.

Ed,
Like everything else, it depends on how complicated the graphics were. A basic paint job runs 3-400. The vinyl graphics I have used in the past on my helmets have not been more than $50 but they have not been sublimated, just basic flames and other shapes. I have gotten great products from: Stock Helmet Designs

You won't be able to get as detailed with vinyl. I grew up in a sign shop and can say that putting vinyl on a helmet is a royal PITA!
Chad would you take paypal for a banner? Shoot me a PM Last edited by porsche4life; 12-22-2010 at 09:04 PM.. |

in my shop i'm flooded with airbrush work on helmets with most racers needing new ones . as for not painting a helmet because it may hit the roll bar or window nets there are way to protect the helmet from damage . as for what they will cost ? most helmets start at about 600 dollars and go up from there . it all depends on what type of art work your looking for also how many clearings and what colors .
