1955 Porsche Speedster 1600 super #80379 with 356 C engine(P70939), NPR1720*C* Cam, zenith carbs.
4500 miles on the engine rebuild, leak down just completed at under 2% on all cylinders.
Updates 741 transaxle with late synchros and operating sleeves. 644 nose and adaptive parts to keep the original money motion shifting components.
Outer body shell is pretty solid with forged welds at the rear of the fender to the door. The complete shell appears collision free with all original panels. Lumpy paint prep on a 40 years old Earl scheib orange/red paint. New top, original decos, front bumper has food fit, rear bumper appears a bit flat in the center and wide at the quarters.
Car needs a bit of TLC, but this driver quality speedster is a joy to drive with the engine and trans upgrades. Front battery box OEM but will need replacement as to do rockers, jack posts, rear 1/2 pan. Front 1/2 is decent, leading tunnel floor under tank and corner apex supports not rusty but appear damaged from poor jacking procedures.
New steel radial tires on brazilian wheels, unfortunate gray carpet, new stay-fast top with headiner, blaupunkt radio actually works.
Regular maintenance and starting this car monthly. The repairs mentioned above do not need to be done if you are looking for a turn-key, driver quality, speedster with Pre-A rockers this is the car for you. Presently located in California, $135k OBO
