Need help pricing my 87 930
Thinking of selling the car. With two little ones now, and with the Ben and Corey incident, my zeal for the track has been dimmed. I want to be 100% honest and forthright in the sale, so I was hoping I could get a decent evaluation fom you guys. I will give you the good and the bad news about the car.
The Bad news (for me): First of all, and most importantly, it has a salvage title. This was not a big deal to me because I planned on having the car for 10+ years etc... It was a theft recovery in Florida with no damage other than a window and a radio. Car has had multiple owners 4 or 5 I believe and I only have records going back to 1994. Car had a high quality repaint in its past. Now there are just some normal rock chips etc.... The Good news: 57k miles. Runs great with good compression and leakdown. Fikse FM10's all around. Brand new AVS ES100's. K27-7200, .8 bar spring with EBC. Kokeln intercooler, TiAl wastegate, B&B headers and exhaust. Andial Fuel Enhancement. Dasport Weekender roll bar. Brey Krause Fire extinguisher bracket. Bilsteins all around. Sparco 5pt. harnesses and Partial leather sport seats. Here's a picture (prior to roll bar install)

evaluation
I have had a 930 and sold it.Service records were the first questions I was asked.30,000 mile service and clutch issues will be important and you need to have the papers on it.Originality, e.g., paint, interior, exhaust, seats, are secondary to the the service.TFM

Without the salvage title I would have said $30-35K but with the title I would have to compare it to a number of 993's which have been appearing recently. They have been cars with a salvage title in the $25K range which might normally be in the $30-$35K.
With this in mind I would say your car may be worth $25K ish (depending on service records). I think you can draw a comparison between 930 and 993's because most of the shoppers who are buying old cars are buying them as weekend fun cars!. This is just my opinion (based on the fact that I am in the market for either a nice 930 or 993!) Rgds Ben

Ben, with the exception of your post above, no one else has suggested a value. I have received some PMs with inquiries, but they all want to know how much I want for it. I appreciate the interes on their part, but the point of this thread was to help me find that number :-)
My guess is that a stock 87 930 with 57k miles in good condition can fetch $35,000. Reduce that by 30% for the salvage title and you get $24.5k. I know mods are pennies onthe dollar, but for someone looking for a set up and sorted out street/DE car with (fikse FM-10s to boot!) I am thinking I can probably get $28-30k. Please keep in mind the first two words of my original post "Thinking of..." But, If the price is right I will sell. Once again. thanks for the interest.
