Anyone know what the purpose of the camshaft plug is on an 09 Cayenne GTS?
Had to replace my high pressure fuel pump and found a little broken plug half stuck in the cam and the other half in the adaptor of the pump. I managed to fish out 90% of the broken plug from the cam but one tiny piece remains preventing me from installing a new plug. The only conclusion I can come to is that the plug is put in place to hold the adaptor to the cam. Otherwise I am clueless what purpose this plug serves. My question is am I able to run the high pressure fuel pump without this plug being present?
