2019 Cayenne window tinting
 

I got a quote from Porsche dealer for front window tinting which is much higher than highly rated tinting shops. I asked the dealership and they explained that there is additional labor required for new 4-door Porsche (eg Cayenne, Panamera). The interior window seals are replaced with felt whose effect is to reduce the tightness which would cause scratches in the film over time.

Why is people’s experience?

One tinting shop said they do the same replacement while a second said it was not necessary.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Is this the case for all newer Porsches or just the 4 door models? I've had several friends with newer 991.1 and 991.2 that have just taken to their cars to regular window tint places and haven't had any issues. Other members will likely chime in with their experience.
