04 Cayenne starter replacement
I am in the process of replacing the starter on MY 04 CayenneS. I have extracted the starter without removing the coolant pipes which are metal. It took me awhile to get the starter out, but it did come out. The problem I have is getting it back in. I can't seem to wiggle it back in, so my question is, can I just loosen the rear bracket(opposite thermostat) that is holding the coolant pipes just a little so I can squeeze the starter under? Upon looking at it, I think I should be able to do it, just need a little more room.

Ok, I removed the bracket (3 torx head screws) closest to the firewall, this resulted in a just enough of play in the pipes where I was able to finagle the starter in. A lot easier than removing the pipes! Thanks Pelican!~

I did my starter this past week, I ended up pulling out my aluminum coolant pipes that I previously installed. Since I did that it was easy putting the starter back, I also put in a new thermostat and water pump. Starts like knew again and runs cool.
