Cayenne 2003-2010 Recall

FYI guys . . .

Porsche Campaign AKB1, affects MY 2003-2010

https://www.consumerreports.org/car-recalls-defects/porsche-recalls-99000-cars-and-suvs-over-rollaway-risk/

Car may NOT be in park after placed in park and key removed due to worn plastic bushing, until you get work done, always park car with Parking Brake on as a precaution.

Thanks. I'll have to give my local dealer a call.

Thanks! I got the letter a few days after your post.

Will I get a letter if I was not the original purchaser?

Nearest Porsche dealer is 75 miles away and a real bunch of jerks.

If the previous owner sent in a card to Porsche to tell them of the change of ownership then yes.

If not, call the local dealership, they verify if the work has been done via the vin. While you are at it, check the NTSB website for the other potential recalls. My model year 2005 has had 3 so far which have been addressed at the dealer.

Thank you. Unfortunately, we haven't had a local Porsche dealer here in Augusta since the 1970s. Road trip time.

There should be a 1 800 number for you to register your car. I still have the letter, let me get that number for you, but won’t be until Sunday as I am out of town

You shouldn't need a letter.
You should be able to call the dealer and have them schedule the recall service from the VIN.
This should also get your contact info into Porsche's system for future notifications.

That is what I did.

Thanks, will do.

Mine is currently at the dealer for the recall, they put me in a 2019 Macan with 900 miles as a loaner.
Any idea how long the fix will take?

RNajarian 09-30-2019 02:33 PM

I dropped mine off at 10:00, got it back by 4:00. No loaner for me though

I've gotta take mine in as well.
