2nd gen Cayenne S Coolant Smell

Any insights here on Coolant Smell emitting from he front of the engine and or radiator. I know there were issues with the first gen Peppers, but had not heard of any with the later SUVs.

Mine is a 2011 Cayenne S.

TIA

The updated cooling hose design is also flawed. Porsche went to metal pipes that are glued into the thermostat housing. Engine heat causes the glue to fail and the pipes leak. Have it checked. A failure on the road would not be pretty. Rennlist has a very active Cayenne forum.

Thanks Tony V! Was afraid of that... and those pipes are still under the intake I imagine, equalling a time consuming and expensive repair. I've since heard that engine out is possibly the only way to repair all the pipes properly.

I think it cost me around $1400 for the repair at the dealer. Love the car so it’s just another cost of ownership.
Lots of good Cayenne info on Rennlist .
