Pic of a wrecked Cayenne...
First noted on another BBS: "Had roughly 100 miles on it."

I hope the people inside were ok.
|
Looks better, doesn't it!!!
Funny, but these new Porsches look just like any other 4X4 boulevard yuppie mobile to me. |
It didn't completely fall to bits like other 4X4s do in crashes...
|
Look, no anti-freeze. Guess that means it's air-cooled, right? :D
|
Every time I read "Unions destroy America" I go watch Grapes of Wrath again. :p
|
Someone actually went four wheeling in it! Yeah, hope everyone came out without injury in it!
|
Is it for sale??
|
When I look at a wreck like that I think -
I wonder if those wheels will... oh never mind!. |
I can almost see the latte stains on the seat, and the crack in the windshield where the cell phone flew out of the driver's hand.
|
Uh, J, those aren't latte stains on the seat. :D
|
I saw my first today at a PCA event. I loved the inside. I wonder what the the dash material is made of. It was a material I had couldn't remember having seen or felt before. My only negative comment was that the front looked a little to bulbous from a few angles. If I was an SUV guy and had the cash, I would take one.
|
That looks like the consumer reports 5 mph bumper test????
|
the guy thought he was driving a 911
|
Have you seen the article in the current Evo magazine where in three parts they compare it to first an Audi RS6, then a Lancer Evo VIII/whatever on the track, and then a drag race against a Land Rover with a 335hp Chevy 350.
The Cayenne wuped up on the Audi, got smoked by the 2000lb lighter Lancer, and stomped the Hot Rod Land Rover. The interesting thing is that on the track that the mag uses for testing the Cayenne was about 10secs a lap slower than the Lancer, about 3 secs slower than a 911, and actually matched the time of the M3. How cool is that, the Cayenne matched the laptime of the M3. I wonder about the validity of the track times, though. I would assume that they would have noted wet times or other variables that would have major effect on the time. I'm sure the turbo Cayenne is an amazing machine, but match the M3 on a track, that's hard to believe. |
(...doing the math) So the Lancer Evo VIII/whatever is 7 seconds faster per lap than the 911?
wow. thats a fast rice boy car |
What a waste....
|
I feel responsible. I've been imagining them all doing that in my mind. Now it's come true. I'm so ashamed. :(
|
Lancer Evo VIII 2L turbo 276 hp 289 lbft 1450 kg (a tad over 3000 lbs) 0-60 ~5.1, 193 bhp/ton
Cayenne 4.5L tturbo 444 hp 457 lbft 2355 kg (~5200 lb) 0-60 5.4, 192 bhp/ton |

It was bound to happen sooner or later!
I am sure it is simply the 1st of many pic's we'll be seeing like this once the MOM's get a hold of them..
I am still waiting tfor one of us to post , ( I was backed into by a mom driving a Cayenne) I am sure some of you laugh, but watch it will happen ,,as there aralreay 3 driving around here in the Dayton area. and al the have had SOCCER MOMS driving.. one already had the friggin soccer ball decal in the window! god help us all... the end is near! Eric |
That's one down.
Let's see how many more can follow suit. |
Sat in one yesterday. Nice inside nothing spectacular. External colour was grey. I felt:( . I was kinda looking forward to it but like others have said its looks much like any other SUV from a distance. Bland is the word that came to mind from some other P-fanatics that were there also.
I'm sure the performance ain't bland though. We had a absolutely drenching drive yesterday with the P-club and we were all sliding out everywhere on the twisties. Not the 4x4 though! and a bugger to lose in the straights - just wouldn't go away. Impressive in that department. For someone towing a boat and lauching/retrieving - good deal. The serious off-roader - too much 'niceness' inside to be muddied up. For the soccer mum:rolleyes: |
i get the wheels.... i called it first :D

Kinda like the pictures we see of guys thinking they know how too drive 911s too. |
Good point Mike. I'm wondering how long it will take before some SoCal hot rodder stuffs the Cayenne V-8 into a hi-boy roadster. :) It's probably happening as I type...
|
I want the motor.

Like I said, the engine would work well in a hi-boy...
|
I believe the driver was going through an intersection and someone ran the light and clipped the cayenne... :) just for thought :)
|
A few things...
1) the windshield didnt pop out. 2) i wouldn't rag on the Cayenne too much. Besides, it's sales are funding the GT3 coupe production.... |
I would like the brakes please...

Race car or SUV a Porsche is a Porsche and to see one wrecked is a sad sight to me.
