Ceramic brake pads

I am nearing 55K on my oem brake pads for my 16 Macan S. I hate having to clean them every other day and I hear ceramic would help in that regard.
I am interested in hearing from people who have done this mod/improv.
I want to go ceramics up front and the oem pads for the rears which I am guessing are steelies.

I thought all four wheels had ceramic, my Cayenne S had ceramic.

My Macan has steelies. A number of people have decided to go with ceramics on the front and keep steelies on the rear. Going this way reduces the amount of dust on the front wheels and I certainly am tired of cleaning the wheels every other day.

Are you referring to the ceramic coating on the brake rotors? I have read that the ceramic coating that Porsche puts on their Rotors is very good, extends the rotor life, reduces pad wear, manages temps better. I thought it came standard on all Porsches, not sure what year that started. If you are re-doing the brakes and have an option of the ceramic coated rotors vs. steel rotors and there was less than a 100% premium (i.e. $150/rotor for steel & $300 / rotor for ceramic coating) I would go for it on all 4 wheels to have consistent performance. I have read that it more than doubles brake life, so it would be worth a premium. You have to be very careful not to let your pads wear down though, because then it will scrape off the ceramic coating which is very thin. So you have to keep up on replacing the pads.

Here is the link to the article about the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB), sounds pretty cool!

Pads, not rotors.
