Cayenne S startup issues
 

Anyone have any experience with a Cayenne S with poor startup? My Dad has a 2004. It will crank quite a while sometimes before starting. Sometimes it starts perfectly. He just replaced both pumps, regulator, and filter thinking it was related to one of those items. No dice.

Follow-up question. At hard acceleration it will pop through the manifold like it is running lean. This may or may not be related. This problem has existed before the aforementioned issue.

I’d wonder about the air/fuel ratio being lean. Probably best to have it scanned for codes rather than just throwing parts at it.

Poor starts when hot?

Does it have codes (check engine light on) ?

There is the crank sensor (reads the flywheel position) Those can start to flake out and give this hard start problem.
