The local dealer had an openhouse with the Cayenne as canter stage. They built a little offroad area to drive around on. If you buy a Cayenne I would reccomend you not buy a sales demo.

They asked if I wanted to take it out on the road. I said no way, I wanna do that! I have a Porsche for the road...I wanna drive on the big hill!

If you want a real off-road package...
Haven't seen a REAL test (non-funded by Porsche) on the Cayenne yet but looks similar in off-road capability to a Explorer-Lexus-BMW type van. If you want a real off-road SUV -
The money you save can get you a nice 993 for the road. |

There IS something cool about that!!!
The lil' flags on the lil' offroad course is just so cool. It's like a giant video game or something. So, how did it do on the hills and such? 944S Boyeee

It did quite well. It WAS cool, but a 993 AND a Land Rover for the same money would be cooler...

you know driving out on the lawn isn't off roading. I had my old Golf through much nastier conditions than that many times. Where do you mount a winch on it? When is the Paris-Dakar Rally and how many Cayannes has Porsche entered?

it's built on the Audi TT chassis, which is built on the new beetle chassis.
