Pulsing and smell
 

Hi all, 2012 Cayenne diesel. On start up the engine pulses for a couple of minutes, labouring on low revs and then increasing before dropping again.
There’s also a burning smell which at idle needs the aircon out on recycle so the fumes aren’t too strong.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. Andy
