serpentine belt demolition

Hi all, 2013 3.0 diesel. The serpentine belt turned into spaghetti and ripped apart some stuff. Specifically, the sensor at the front of the oil pan, just below the crank pulley. I got a warning that the oil level measurement failed. There was more but this is my issue right now. There is a sensor right at the front of the oil pan? The connection was ripped apart but when I connected it the warning went away. Everything I find suggests the oil level sensor is located at the bottom of the oil pan. The diesel is not so common, so I am having issues finding info on what this sensor is. It must be damaged because now it is leaking oil. Am I correct that it is the oil level sensor? I will begin tearing into it this weekend and would like to know what it is I need. Thank you everyone! Bill
