955 Air Suspension Woes

Hoping someone can help me with the issues on my air suspension on my 05 955 S.

For a while now it's struggled to get below normal ride height. Sometimes it would but most times not. Then it would announce the Suspension Workshop fault on the dash and not try anymore. I figured this was the valves on the to of the strut and ordered some up and the tool to remove them.

Then I discovered the front strut protective bellows were split and the upper control arm bushings and ball joints, as I had suspected, were a little "loose" shall we say. So I ordered them too.

After replacing the boots, valves and control arms in the front the car is now very unhappy. It continues to complain if I try to go below normal (maybe rear valves) but now sits an inch heigher on the passenger side at Normal or Terrain mode. It now throws the Suspension Workshop hissy fit after about 2 minutes of driving on every trip.

I had a friend with an Audi software app scan the car and got these:

He could read everything though.

What do we think the next step should be?

Did you check your level sensors?

How's the battery as well?

Battery is good and relatively new. It did go flat while the car was on the hoist for a week though. Forgot about that little anomaly.

Haven't checked the sensors. How do you do that?

Just a visual check is a good starting point.

Here is a video showing where one is:

Progress report.

Yes, there's been progress! This week I replaced the valves at the top of each airbag. Here's were we are now:

-still get the "suspension workshop" warning after a few minutes or 1/2 mile.
-suspension will now achieve all the programmed levels from loading to special terrain, though it -seems slow to do so.
-Suspension appears to be 1" high on the passenger side at all or most levels.
-drives fine.

So a lot better than it was. Wondering what to try next?

It sounds like you’ve addressed some key components, but the issue could be related to sensor calibration or a fault in the rear suspension, especially if it’s throwing the Suspension Workshop warning after driving. The uneven ride height on the passenger side could also suggest an air leak, faulty valve, or sensor issue on that side. I'd recommend checking for any leaks in the rear system, re-calibrating the suspension, and ensuring all the sensors are connected and functioning properly. A scan tool capable of reading suspension faults will help pinpoint the exact problem.

You could also disconnect and reconnect the battery to run all the test again.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Update: Bought a Durametric.

Haven't had chance to use it yet. My excuse is attending the Sno*Drift rally last weekend. The Cayenne was a perfect platform for delivering lunches to the stage workers and performed flawlessly.

When I get back in control of things I'll see what the Durametric can do.

I finally got chance to connect my new Durametric to my laptop in an attempt to recalibrate the suspension but got his message for the Level Control.

Is the module faulty? Everything works; it is just a bit uneven.

Any errors in the Duramethic, or won’t it communicate at all. If it does communicate do a rest or calibrate, if it doesn’t, I would look for another module off eBay or a wrecker

Sorry, are you saying if there are any errors indicated by the Durametric it won't connect and also that the suspension module may be bad?
