Come on Porsche provide a block heater

So it’s been cold here over Christmas and I find that when it gets below -30 c (-22 F), the air suspension can’t keep up. Both my Panamera and my wife’s Cayenne were low riders when I went out to check them. I was able to get the Panamera going as I use Antigravity batteries so I was able to start it and it rose up from the ground.
My wife’s Cayenne (regular Porsche battery) would not turn over, I will either have to wait until it warms up a bit or jump her, but this no remote starter, no block heater is crap!

I understand it’s a world car maker but come on, at least make some things options for us in colder countries!

Rant over

I get the remote start that would be nice but black heater is not going to help battery much, the thing to deal with is the battery, use same battery as panamera even if battery new if that set up is working on panamera then it is worth it

I would MUCH rather have a block heater over a remote start. A warm engine doesn't require a super battery.

I had block heaters in all my cars in when stationed in Minot ND. The one on my Toyota 4Runner that I bought there was OEM option, but the ithers were generic/aftermarket. They replaced a freeze plug...and all worked very well.

I had no real problem with batteries as I drove my cars almost daily and they started right up due to the block heater (no thick oil). If I were ever forced (at gunpoint) to live where it gets that cold again, I would probably put my cars on a trickle charger at night as well. I would make a junction box so there was only one plug for both.

When I moved south, people kept seeing the plug on the front of my cars and asked if it were an electric car (back in the 90s).

As for batteries I put Antigravity batteries in my cars, saved me on more than one occasion.

Been a mild winter here so far this year, but last year after a minus 31 night the Macan barely started and gave me quite the light show:

It's going to be over a week before it returns to above 80°F during the day here in southern Florida.

So it's supposed to get down to -36F this week at night, should we placed bets the Cayenne or the Macan will be DOA? (or both)

I'm thinking to only thing I can do it put a trickle charge on one, but I do have a fully charged battery if I need it (it's on the charger now).

Stay tuned

Sorry, but inflation has hit us all.

After some research I find this Factory Block Heater is much more costly than first advised.

Price has increased to $800 or offer.

Back to $500 plus shipping.

This is a factory Porsche part and was VERY costly when first offered.

Be prepared for the coming winter.
