fan housing metalurgy helllllllp

Did a search and no results. My fan housing has cracks and i'd at least like to try and have it welded. In order to do so I need more specific info as to the specific metal. It looks like it's cast aluminum. I hought Id read some were magnesium. Mine is a '77 2.7 magnesium block. I really need as specific info as to the type of aluminum or magnesium that this housing is composed of.
Thanks loads

you have a 77 magnesium block with 2.7 displacement in your Cayenne???

is it a turbo , or a N/A?

is it faster than the V8 that came with the Cayenne???
