How much coolant does your pepper use?
I've noticed my coolant level dropping and I had to top it up almost 3/4 of a litre last week. I know sometimes I can smell coolant, but last time I had the truck in for service I asked them to check for leaks and they didn't find any (so they say).
I checked a few other forums and some of the mechanics say loosing some coolant is normal, but this IS a closed system right? Anyway just wanted to know how much you have to top up yours (of course with the Porsche only coolant) and how often? I have about 7 months left on warranty so I want to make sure I get everything fixed before going naked. Cheers

Mine doesn't use any except when it dumped all the coolant. If you haven't updated the plastic pipes I would check that.

That would be nice if it was the tubes so I can get them done under warranty....

Mine was using coolant pretty badly and I took it into the dealership since it shouldn't be doing that at all. When the dealership looked at it, my car had the plastic coolant tubes, which they replaced under warranty.

you shouldnt be losing coolant. there is nowhere for it to go but out of the motor SOMEWHERE. My CS was "losing " coolant and i smelled coolant but there was not a visible leak. The coolant pipes were leaking but most of the coolant stayed in the valley of the motor and burned off. If you smell coolant there is a leak. it might not be enough to drip to the floor but its outside the motor and leaking. If you havent done the coolant pipes yet be prepared. They will leak until they finally let go.

Sounds like you can get them done under warranty. ...and good to know that they give a bit of warning. --Thanks Scott.

Man if you guys only new the anality of my service guys....
I have heard from a couple of mechanics that said a small amount is normal, but I like you think it's a closed system and you shouldn't be loosign any. When I get my 911 back from the top end rebuild I will take the pepper in and complain, I sure hope that if it is the collant tubes, I can get them done before going naked. But Like I said even if I brought the truck in and it dropped the entire coolant level in the service bay, my dealership would still probably say " oh they all do that"

Hi Bob, My bet is the coolant pipes as well. What year is your Turbo? Here is a photo gallery of a 2005 Cayenne Turbo that I did the coolant pipes on awhile back. Its not a fun job, but it is do-able. PHOTO GALLERY - 543
We replaced the starter while we were there too. It was submerged in coolant.
