Brake Discs
I PM'd Wayne but in the meantime is there a way to tell what size discs are on the car without having to remove a wheel and measure? I thought this was a no brainer based on this but not so sure anymore...

For 2003-06, Cayenne V-6 discs are 32mm thick when new. Cayenne S and Turbo are 34mm. Cayenne Turbo S has its own special disc.

Remove a front wheel and look for the number on top of the caliper. It should have "17ZR" or "18ZR" cast into the body. 17ZR=330mm (black caliper), 18ZR=350mm (red caliper).

Well mine are gold colored. I will find out tomorrow if I ordered the right parts or not. Tomorrow I will do the oil change and get the wheels off etc, Saturday is the brake job. Kind of a backward way of doing things but according to the parts catalog what I ordered should fit. I'll keep you posted...

Yup, I got it up and wheels off and it looks like all the parts are gonna be just fine. So see ya tomorrow...
Back on topic... My calipers are gold as I stated and the fronts are the 350mm and the rears are the 330mm just like PP has listed for my vehicle. I don't know why the sales guy said I couldn't go by the catalog and had to measure them. These look like they'll fit just fine. Instead of trying to look through the wheels trying to read the caliper stampings, which I never did, I took these measurements for future reference for others that may end up having the same questions. The stampings are there that confirm the 330/350mm sizes. The 330mm is 2in from the hub: ![]() The 350mm is 3in from the hub. ![]() Which these measurements matches to my rotors mounted on the car as well as the PP catalog. So if your sales guy says to measure them laugh and hang up and order on line. Wayne's got it right... I got the oil changed as well and that went ok. The one panel was simple but the very front panel was kind of a PIA. Then the oil catch thing was overwhelmed with the flow of oil so there was a mess to clean up. Other than that it went fine. So stay tuned for a couple of tech articles on these projects for other to use.
