I know who cares but the Cayenne and MPG?
 

I know ..its a Porsche so who looks at MPG but I just did my first long trip and first tank.
Went from Indianapolis to Chicago and back. Full car load and drove a bit fast (76) going up and then did a bit of city driving. On the way back took my time and the computer said 20.1 MPG at 68 mph almost all the way down. Got back and filled up the tank with 19.8 gallons and did 351 miles. Thats just under 18 mpg. I would say this is maybe normal? what about you?

i remember when i was driving mine(when she was still good)...i get between 16.7 to 16.9mpg highway...but hey this trucks alot better than my previous truck H2 at 10mpg. :D

My 2004 T gets around 15-16 Highway and around 12-13 as a daily driver with 25 mile round trips. I do descend around 2000 ft and back up daily and it is really a fun drive. Grass doesn't grow under my tires.

Mine is always good, change your oil at 5000 miles.
they get better mpg at 60, (22-24) at 75 you will get 18, that is normal.
the front end is a lot of area to push through the air.
just treat it well and you will be fine, mine hasn't even shown any signs of wear at 70000 miles..

I do care about gas mileage.

Waste and emissions give me a conscience.

last i remember, mine started missing..and had to replace coils and plugs...but then again its a turbo S(sorry had to try reg.. gas tooSmileWavy)and since it didn't take regular very well.. had to get the ecu tune;)....

No regular gas. At hIgher altitudes, it is whose happy with midrange fuel, but at sea level, premium is needed.

False, the octane rating is already adjusted at the pump. Where you have 93 at lower elevations for "premium" we have 91 for premium. If you put in "mid grade" at higher elevation you are not putting in the right fuel. Just always put in the right fuel.


As for mpg. I you have the nav system there is a setting to look at your "continuous" log of mpg and speed. I discovered mine on a trip. Look closely, this is the mpg over 229 HOURS of driving. (So according to the average speed, about 6,870 miles of commuting since it was last reset)

I just took a long trip with mine almost all highway driving driving about 65-70 mph and believe it or not I averaged just over 20 mpg. I was very happy with that number. I have a V6 model and my usual average during daily driving is about 17 MPG. Before that I was actually considering buying a more fuel efficent truck but I do love my Cayenne so much that with 20 mpg I will definatley buy another one.

When I bought my pepper last month the dealer told me the tires were pumped up to the right pressure..... I checked today. 32 PSI in the fronts and 34 in both rears..... thats fine for wifes toyota but not for a cayenne.
Now they are at 38 psi in the fronts and 42 in the rears as per Porsche recommandation..... My fault.... trust but verify

I do on a bad week get 18 mpg mix ( 20.6 highway 70%, 16 city 30%)...
I do not find thuis car a guzzler at all as long as you let it warm up when cold and never hit it from a full stop... on the freeway I drive mild aggressive .
