Recommendation for PPI in Chicago area?
Been searching for an '05 or '06 turbo in the Chicagoland area and would like to have a prepurchase inspection done before buying. I'm in Indiana so I'm not too familiar with shops/dealers in Chicago.
Main thing I'd like done is a boroscope inspection of all 8 cylinders...I actually own one and could do it but I doubt any owner would allow it and I wouldn't blame them. Besides the scored cylinders/piston slap and asinine plastic coolant tubes, are there any other red flags to look out for? I'm looking at Cayennes in the 50K mile range. Do the coolant tubes typically fail after much higher mileage where I wouldn't have to worry about them for a while or is it something that needs to be done asap? I've read through the replacement procedure and seems like a relatively simple job. Usually I can gauge a car's flaws by looking at high mileage models for sale and what items the owner claims to have replaced. For some reason, most Cayennes around here are very low in mileage. 20K to 60K seems to be the most common even on older models.

There's a nice looking Cayenne with Tubes upgraded in west Chicago burbs
in your mileage range listed on Rennlist. I nearly bought it -- but ended up with a lower mileage '08 CTT out of Long Island. Mike
