2013= nice
Just a 'so far, so good' comment about our 2013 Cayenne S. Guess what? My wife is so original she named it 'Pepper', yea...right. So original, as I see on this forum.
I'm not sure I will ever know how to work the "PCM" related things. Example; the 'NAVI" is hit and miss for me and I only know how to silence audio sounds, not actually turn off (does anything have an 'off' switch anymore?) the device as it's voice is from many sources. This car is ideal for my wife as she is a narsisist as well as a techie and these (cars,not narsisists) are scarce in Central Caliiifornia. PCM seems a worthwhile option though. From a driving standpoint, I think this 'large sports sedan' is really something. The V8 has a muted Corvette sound when pushed even a little tho I don't hear the exhaust contributing much. The brakes are highly boosted but easily modulated. The 'sport' settings seem effective yet completely tolerable. This is a very, very smart and well educated/programmed machine. It feels nothing like an SUV and this is partly why I call it a 'sport sedan'. The other reason is that it is Small. It is no substitute for a Sequoia -which it will suposedly replace in our stable- or a Tahoe. It has only 900 miles on it so I can not comment on the total power available but it seems substantial as the torque is terrific. This thing is SO smooth and quiet in every way. At 100+ a 911/996 is fun but these are ... "Come on?! We are only going about 75, right?" I'm still deciding on the 8-spd auto as it is pretty busy or very lazy. I'm sure it is all about MPG but the upshifts are Very early; by 20 MPH it is in 3rd or even 4th. Sport setting compensates, as does a heavy foot, but the 1-2 shift can still happen in 20 feet -I swear!- and this really throws my personal timing off at most stops. Speaking of stops; the Auto-start is actually tolerable; very well programmed and thought out but I can't imagine it will actually help Our MPG. I must add, in closing for now, that we are totally disgusted with Porsche as our 2000 996 is with Jake Raby in Georgia for a $20,000 engine. A cracked head. Thanks and praise-be to the likes of Jake and L&N because Porsche AG has turned it's corporate (VolksVagen) back on thousands of us stuck with their inferior - by todays automotive standards- M96 engine. It appears to be approaching a 10% failure rate. Thanks also to sites like this one as 'The Porsche Club of America' dares not speak the truth about those cars. The first time I dropped my membership was because of PCA's total co-operation with the 55 MPH speed limit. I'm that old.... jvm

Adding to previous
I referred to Jake Raby's company and L&N in the same sentence and want to make clear that they are two separate entities but seem to be totally cooperating to serve Porsche enthusiasts. jvm
