Has anyone changed their tensioner and idler pulleys?
 
Exactly as the above states. I have taken all of the surround covers off, hood rubber seal and all of the screws out of the panel above the radiator. The panel above the radiator still won't budge because obviously one needs access them by taking the cooling fan out. Any information would be grateful. I don't have time to search all of the forums on the Cayenne V8. One of mine is squawking. Thanks.

You dont need to remove the cooling fan or radiator to change the tensioner and idler pulleys. There's enough room to change them in place.

You will need to remove the plastic covers at the front (plastic screws), MAF sensor housings, hoses and intake tube on the front of the intake. Careful as there is a plastic hose connection on the bottom of the intake tube.

You'll then have enough room to access the 32mm nut on the tensioner to remove the belt. From there, you should be able to figure out how to get the tensioner and idlers off. Torx screws hold them on.

I suggest removing the front lower bumper cover to get the belt back on. You'll also probably drop a couple tools down below the first time. Makes it easier.

Thanks for the info. I figured the bottom cover would probably need to come off eventually. I really didn't want to take the intake off but so be it. After looking at it, I wondered how they only charged $200 for a belt change.

the intake tube on the front is easy to remove. Rotate the lock pins so that the mark on each faces the notch then pull them out. Intake tube pulls off. Why is that difficult?

Is it starting to squeal? Wurth make a spray high pressure bearing grease that sprays into the tightest areas and becomes grease like magic. Made in Germany, about 17 bucks a can. I used it on mine and it's been fine.
There are other brands too.

It just looked to involved for the time I had to do it that day.
