Rear Hatch Shock Replacement
Anybody do it?
I figure they've gone bad on someone elses if mine is an '06...and now with the cold weather, it's not shy to smack my wife upside the head:rolleyes: Am I missing something in tech articles here? Any help is great, thanks All:D |
I did mine this summer. A real PTA. It took me about 5 hours to do them on an 04 T. There is a video on youtube about how to do the job. Be sure you get both the one for the glass and the hatch. Our host has them and they are a perfect fit. If you don't do both you will end up doing it twice. Both act to lift the hatch. I can't remember which but if you only do one set, you will need to remove the one set to do the other. Be sure you have a prop to hold up the hatch. I did this in my garage with about a 7 1/2' high ceiling.

I found that video after posting this.
Unbelievably ridiculous design, especially for something this prone to fail... Guy in the video, "this is my third time doing this." WHAT!? |
I have a writeup on how to do it. It isnt that difficult. PM your email and I'll send it.

I didn't think it was super hard either, but we did already have the entire headliner out at the time trying to chase a leak that wasn't really there.
