"Service Now" Service reminder reset
Well I feel stupid for thinking that the Cayenne "Service Now" was reset as a fault. :-/
Hasty mistake - I quickly hooked up the Durametric, punched "reset all faults" and thought I was done. And . . . no. Next start-up - ding "Service Now" I check online only to find a completely useless rennlist thread yacking about some tap your nose three times while flashing the lights... (or some such). :-/ Anyway, the right answer is that "Service Now" is not a fault. It's an instrument cluster "reminder reset" Command. (with the Durametric tool) see yellow mark-up http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1399565650.jpg Maybe next time I'll remember instrument cluster Command. And I expect this may help anyone searching the topic. |
Hello, may I ask which Durametric hand held you are using. I'd like to reset my reminder as well, I perform all my own maintenance and I'd like to get one of these devices. Thanks!

This worked on our 2004.
On some models, you can hold the odometer button on while turning on the key. The display will say "Service Reset", then press the Reset button on the windshield wiper stalk. Took a couple tries, was a little finicky, but worked. __________________ |
Thank you very much, I'll give it a try. Best Regards.
Oh, forgot to ask but the reset button on the wiper...is this the button that is selected to "enter" into menu selection or scroll up/down? |

IIRC, it allows only 3 vehicles (which have to be ~1996 and newer porsches) and was ~300$. Wayne sells them. |
Thank you island911, I appreciate your input and time. Best Regards....
