What makes the Cayenne a SUV and not a SUW?
This isn’t a question of ‘Why did Porsche make an SUV?’ But, what is it about the Cayenne that makes it an SUV? Is it just the height? From what I thought, SUVs are truck based and SUWs are car based, and I’m sure there are strict government classifications and all of that, but does anyone know what they are?

I thin wagons have always been a little longer in the back. I would have to say it is more likely that it has simply become the catch phrase.

If it is designated a "truck" it adheres to much less stringent fuel and safety regulations. Just a way around the laws as written.
