Cayenne at Sydney Motor Show

The Sydney Motor Show is currently on and I was very interested in having a look at the Cayenne in the flesh.

There have been lots of negative opinions. On the plus side, it is highly innovative, has plenty of trend setting technical developments and is a beautifully finished product. Isn't that what Porsche is all about and has always delivered? And it does definitely go off-road.

OK, it's not for me, personally. However, I can see that it would be great for someone who wants [and can afford!] a luxurious 5-seater with brilliant performance and handling and loads of versatile adaptable luggage configurations.

I don't think we are sufficiently prophetic that we can judge whether this vehicle will diminish the Porsche image. The records have shown that every new model has been met with scepticism - starting with the launch of the 911, at which stage the 356 loyalists were lamenting the end of the Porsche marque as they knew it at that point in time.

Unfortunately not ... still waiting for the good digital cameras to come down to a reasonable price.
